but there aren't any rides for toddlers, and it was extremely hot. It's not a bad park, just not great for a two-year-old and a five-year-old.
The highlights of Animal Kingdom were the Nemo show, Expedition Everest (an awesome roller coaster!), and the 'It's a Bug's Life' 3D movie.Number one highlight: the girls' outfits for the day!
Abby and I spent lots of time making clothes for the girls to wear on our trip. Both of our husbands thought we were out of our minds! I think even Robbie and Trey smiled, though, when people would comment on how cute the girls' zebra print skirts and shirts were. No, they may never wear them again (except to school!!), but it was totally worth the effort! (And much cheaper than buying them already made!)
When you put all four girls together, their shirts spelled...
MESS!!
Which was very appropriate for dinner that night! We ate at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Robbie and I took our girls back to swim, plus we absolutely had to have showers. It was that hot outside. Thinking we had lots of time to get to dinner (whose heard that before from the Lathams?!), we got on the bus to the Magic Kingdom, then boarded the ferry for the Wilderness Lodge. Turns out that boat takes a good thirty minutes to get to the Lodge. The boat ride was not at all relaxing, and our meal was pretty crazy, too.
But, just like all Disney restaurants, this one kept the kids entertained. They had a race around the restaurant on little wooden horses. Fun! The food is yummy, too!
AND...
we got to celebrate sweet Sophie's birthday!!
The boat ride back to the resort was so much better. And faster, of course! No, seriously, it only took ten minutes to get back to the Magic Kingdom!!
Overall, it was a great day. Truthfully, every day of our trip was incredible. I told you, we totally drank the Disney kool-aid!
