One year ago, Ellie and Robbie went to their first Father/Daughter banquet. It's fun to look at the picture from last year and compare it to this one. Ellie doesn't look too terribly different, but her little personality sure has grown a lot in a year!
Last year Ellie wore a sweet bishop dress on her date with daddy. She later informed me that all of the other girls had on beautiful princess dresses. So, at Kids Market this past fall, I made sure to find her a more suitable dress for the dance. To make the plain ivory dress a little bit more exciting, I made a hot pink sash to go with it. And yes, Ellie chose the color of the sash. I had a light pink in mind, but she requested HOT pink! She made a good choice!
We also had World War III over her hair this year. No more bows. She only wants braids. I told her that braids are not for fancy occasions. (I know, bad mommy.) We compromised by putting a pearl bobby pin on one side of her hair.
Taking her picture was a lot harder this year, too. She is a little turkey when I want just a normal picture. Either her eyes are closed, or she has a goofy look on her face. Girls! :)
Don't worry, though, just like last year, Robbie was on cloud nine getting to take his Ellie on a date. Next up...a date requested by Mary Claire to Chick-fil-a!

Oh my goodness I can't believe how old she looks - sniff, sniff :) And I think our Gracie belle could be a latham sister too :)
