All of five of us (plus Granddaddy!) went to Auburn's homecoming game yesterday. Did y'all know that Robbie is an Auburn football fan? Of the diehard variety. He has had season tickets since he was five. As you can see from the picture above, we are continuing this tradition.
For this game, we did not sit in our usual seats. The seats we sat in were great for watching the game, but not so great if you didn't want the sun blaring in your face.
All of us drank lots of water. Lots. We didn't even care how much it cost for one bottle. Grandddaddy also took said water and poured it on the girls to cool them. That I did care about. I couldn't watch $4 worth of water falling to the ground and not being consumed.
An incredibly sweet man sitting in front of us saw my children sweating profusely and told us about the 'Cooling Station.' I think it should be called Heaven. It's an area situated underneath one of the spiral ramps leading to the upper deck with FREE cups of water.
The girls saw it as a place where they could touch the ceiling and play without having to stay in one place. See, I told you. Heaven.
After seeing Miss Auburn get crowned, I looked around for seats in the shade. There weren't any. The kids were done. I was done. So all four of us ventured to the Student Act and watched the game there.
The looks I got walking around with three chickies (one in a stroller weighed down with stadium seats, snacks, a huge purse, etc.) are very much like the ones I get when I fly with all three alone! Robbie and his dad were done with the game by the beginning of the fourth quarter, so I really wasn't alone for long.
Yesterday was a good experience for Robbie and I. Now we can say Robert has been to his first Auburn game. However, five-years-old sounds like the perfect age from now on! :)
