The last two days, Mary Claire has stayed home from school with the yucky stomach bug. I seriously don't know where all of this sickness in our home is coming from! Crazy! Despite feeling tired and pitiful, MC has enjoyed her time with me and Robert (and the tv!). She has also stayed super-sweet.
Today is Picture Day at school, and she even stayed sweet while we discussed her outfit options. MC asked me last night to lay out some 'choices' for her, so I did.
I had a favorite outfit, but I knew which one she would pick. I love, love, love anything with a collar in a school picture because it looks well, school-ish. But, MC chose the dress with wild colors and leggings with little gem buttons at the bottom (top picture). And I let her. Mary Claire does not have a collared-shirt, bishop dress personality and I'm okay with that. It's taken some getting used to, but I'll live. :) She and Ellie both are really big on talking about how 'the inside matters, not the outside.' Noted, sweet girls.
Another thing that MC does lately is make her bed every morning. I am an acts of service kind of person, so when I see her made bed, it warms my heart. Seriously. I love it that she takes the time to get her bed nice and neat before she ever leaves her room.
Oh, and while I'm getting MC ready each morning, if I can't find Robert, I just look in the girls' room. His new favorite activity is playing with the Barbie camper.
I make him keep his paci in his mouth so he doesn't try to munch on one of the gazillion pieces that go along with Barbie.
I'm trying really hard to come up with a nice closing sentence, but I've got nothing. So, Happy Wednesday!
