G-O, G-O, Let's Go Bucs!

So I did forget something pretty important.  Ellie decided to cheer this year in lieu of ballet.  Now that she's seven, we thought it was okay to let her make this decision instead of trying to steer her to continue ballet.  Ellie is a 'gameday cheerleader,' meaning it's not competitive, but at the same time, they want the girls to learn the correct way to cheer.
So far it's been fun.  The girls practice on Sundays, then cheer for the 70-pound football team one night a week.  They also do a dance during halftime.
My job is to hold the run-through sign at the beginning of the games.  I had flashbacks to teaching of huge rolls of butcher paper and paint.  Someone got smart, though, and bought a nifty plastic sign that velcros together, then rips apart as the boys run through it.  I love hearing the boys and the coaches just as they are about to pummel through the sign...the excitement is hilarious!

The very first game Ellie cheered in, she was one of three cheerleaders on the squad to get a spirit ball.
The spirit ball held a prominent place on our mantle until it had to be returned at the next game!  So proud!!
Robbie is in heaven reliving his childhood watching little boys whose pads are bigger than their bodies tackle each other!  Mary Claire loves people-watching and getting anything she can finagle out of me or Grandmama from the concession stand.  Sweet Robert sits with either Granddaddy or Daddy the whole game and listens to them talk football.  He also cheers all the time, which is funny!  And I am happy to be there watching my family enjoy it all!
