The girls woke up with prizes, just like every other day of our vacation...
For our last day, we ventured to the Magic Kingdom. Robbie and I knew that it would be a perfect day for taking pictures in front of Cinderella's castle. Too bad there was a crane there! (They were putting up lights for Christmas.)
The crane was gone by the end of the day, but so was our girls' patience for taking pictures!
So much for Christmas cards with a precious family picture in the Magic Kingdom! Oh well.
After our (failed) photo session, we went to lunch at the Crystal Palace. It is a buffet with all of the characters from Winnie the Pooh. Since we are so good with our predictions, Robbie and I were excited to watch Mary Claire with some of her favorite characters. Wrong. Do you see a trend?!
I was already tired by this time, and it was only lunch. I was also convinced that I was going to get to go back to the hotel with the MC for a little rest. She didn't seem like she could make it through the rest of the day.
Lunch started off pretty rocky. Mary Claire shook and cried when the characters came anywhere near her, and Ellie didn't look too thrilled, either.
By the end of lunch, though, they both were smiling and happy. Their good moods were contagious, and I got out of my funk, too. (Robbie admits he was surprised that it took me to the end of the vacation to get in one of my 'moods!')
A couple of days earlier at the Magic Kingdom, I noticed Ariel and Jasmine had 'character spots' where you could get your picture taken with them. Ellie and Mary Claire had met every other princess except Jasmine, so we headed that way after lunch.
Added bonus: the princess' princes were with them, too! Ellie cracked me up. You can see in both pictures that she was really excited, but also really shy around the princes! Mary Claire was just hot and didn't care either way.
See how red their sweet faces are? We waited in line for at least thirty minutes to see Jasmine and Aladdin.
In the midst of waiting in one of these lines, MC decided to lay on the floor. She wasn't throwing a fit or being disobedient, she just needed a little rest!
Thank goodness we have pictures with all of the princesses...now we can go home! :)
But no, the torture must continue. Robbie's dad and Ellie have a special bond with the movie "Song of the South," so we had to get a picture of El and MC in the laughing place. These pictures were actually fun to take, because there was a playground in the shade, and MC got to be free as a little bird!
Okay, great! The girls are happy, let's go try to take some more castle pictures!
Um, or maybe we need to remember this special day in our minds!
We decided it was time to eat a quick dinner, head to Main Street to pick out souvenirs, and be done. Good decision!
Mary Claire chose Mickey and Minnie dolls, and Ellie chose a Piglet doll and a Minnie Mouse t-shirt. They both knew they could have anything from the row of shops on Main Street, but these toys are what they chose. I had visions of elaborate (expensive) costumes and ridiculously big stuffed toys coming home with us. As usual, I was wrong! Both girls are still enjoying their souvenirs!
I was a little (okay, super) stressed about getting everything packed to go home once we got back to the hotel. The girls must of sensed this, because they were extra-good that night! After seven days at Disney, they were finally pooped!
We were actually kind of sad to leave the next day. Seven days seems like such a long time to be gone, but we really could have stayed longer! Because the staff is so friendly, your kids are happy, the food is good, and everything is so over-the-top, everyone is in a good mood. Who wants to leave a place like that?!
We are already talking about our next Disney trip... :)

isn't it funny what they choose for souvenirs? avery just wanted the strawberry popsicles. we told her you can get that AND something else (because you know we love a good stuffed animal around here). she picked a pencil. with a dangly eraser. and another popsicle.
What a fun trip! You are a great Mom! I told my kids no Disney for another 5 years because I don't want to listen to their whining and complaining which I know would come after a day of walking. But you're pictures and my love of Disney is enough to make me almost reconsider...
