Grateful for Grandparents

I started this post a couple of days ago, and it was a quick recap of our Christmas.  The more I thought about it, though, it's the middle of January!  Instead, I decided to tell you all about what wonderful grandparents Ellie (ahem, 'Ellis') and Mary Claire have.  (And yes, there will be some Christmas pix thrown in!)
The day after Christmas we had a fun visit from my parents (Nana and Papa) in Atlanta.  They were on their way to Louisiana and wanted to exchange gifts with us.  They actually ASKED if they could come!  Are you kidding??!!  :)
BONUS: My two brothers, sister-in-law, and niece and nephew were with them, too!!
It was a fun, one-hour whirlwind of wrapping paper flying, girl cousins playing, and the rest of us laughing at James and MC!
My mom (Grandmother) was scheduled to fly in later that same day.  After an unsuccessful trip to the airport and several days of waiting, she didn't make it to Birmingham until the Thursday after Christmas.  No worries, though.  She extended her trip to make up for the delay.
Most importantly, we accomplished the one goal Mom had on her trip: find a good, Pennsylvania-worthy winter coat!  (No, Ellie has not been drugged in this picture.  If you have kids, you know what a joy it is to capture 'good' expressions!)
Today we just got home from spending two nights with Robbie's parents (Grandmama and Granddaddy).  They only live fifteen minutes from us and we see them at least twice a week, but spending the night with them was fun and out-of-the-ordinary!  They were our shelter for the winter weather that came through Birmingham.  Robbie was leaving for Auburn's BCS game (WAR EAGLE!! He doesn't know it, but he'll be posting about his trip with pictures soon!), and I don't have the first clue how to work our generator in case of a power outage.  Sweet Mary and Bob have a generator, too, and they have a great yard for sledding!

Grandmama got in on the sledding, too!
The best part about spending so much time with grandparents has been all of the help they've given me.  I am nine weeks pregnant with Little Latham #3, and have honestly felt pretty crappy.  (How's that for a formal announcement?!)
So, thank-you precious grandparents for feeding, entertaining, and LOVING our girls!!
