Second Grade So Far

I just looked through the recently uploaded pictures on our computer to see if there was something I should be blogging about, but have forgotten.  Nope.  Life seems incredibly busy, but nothing monumental has happened in the past few weeks.  So, I'm guessing that we've transitioned from 'the beginning of school' to 'normal.'  Wow.  Normal is busy! :)
One fun event I did find pix from was Ellie's Open House at her school.  The plan was for everyone to go, but Robert threw up everywhere just as we were about to leave, so Robbie stayed home with the littlest kiddos.  Ellie was super-sad because she wanted everyone to see her classroom and her work.
And of course Mrs. Laxson, her super teacher!
Besides the peace sign necklace and orange heels, did you notice Ellie's shirt in her self-portrait?  You know Robbie is proud!  Oh but it got better.  When we got to her classroom, she had a little activity on her desk waiting for me.  I had to guess what she created from these cubes...
 Can you guess??
Too funny!
After leaving her classroom, Ellie and I went on a scavenger hunt to see all of her 'specials' teachers.  Last year I was pumped to meet the people who get to see my girl each week.  This year I felt so 'in the know!' because I knew where the classrooms were and who the teachers are.  Anyhow, one of our stops was the gym, where Ellie showed me mad PE skills, her favorite being balancing bean bags while walking the beam.  Love it!
I left the school that night so thankful for the people that work there, who take such good care of our Ellie.  But I was most thankful that God continues to answer our prayers as our children grow by putting Ellie exactly where she should be!
