High Points: Disney Day-By-Day

After taking a week-long trip to Disney, there's no way to just throw it in a post about the last few months of 2013.  Nope.  It deserves a post of its own!  To make it easier, I'm going to break it down by day (which may also take a couple of posts!).  Let's begin...
Day One || Arrive/EPCOT
We flew into Orlando around 3:00pm on a Friday.
The plane ride and the bus ride to our resort were enough for Robert that day.  He was already taken by the Disney 'magic.'
We decided to go ahead and go to a park that night so we could use one of our meals, plus we knew we wouldn't be going on our last day.  EPCOT is a great way to ease into the world of all things Disney.  The lines are usually shorter, and the park itself is smaller, so there's not as much walking.

Day Two || Chef Mickey's/Animal Kingdom
When I was planning our trip, I tried to map things out as conveniently as I could, knowing that we were taking three children this time!  Chef Mickey's is an over-the-top breakfast buffet with characters in the Contemporary Resort (it's attached to Bay Lake by a walkway).  Did you see the whole 'with characters' in that last sentence?  Yeah, I was a little bit worried that Robert would take days to warm up to the characters that would constantly surround him.  Um, not even close.  It took him all of two seconds.
 And look how far this girl has come.  No shaking, no crying, just pure love for the characters (or, as she now knows, a person in a costume).  Another side note...Ellie chose to wear her back-up glasses because they matched her outfit.  Ellie doesn't care at all about clothes (complete opposite of MC!), so it was fun to see her choose her own thing.
Miss SassyPants was there, too.  Don't worry.
As we were eating, a sky writer started doing his magic.  I lived in Orlando for a year when I was in first grade, and I remember seeing the sky writers so many times, wondering what message or picture they were going to leave!
Since I'm never one to mince words, I'm going to be honest and say that Animal Kingdom is not our favorite park.  When it's hot and humid, AK seems crowded and hard to navigate.  So, we tackled this park on day two, after breakfast.  That way we didn't feel rushed during our meal, and the park closes by 6:00 every night, so we were good to go!
The most fun we had at Animal Kingdom was riding Kali River Rapids.  Ellie and I got drenched, making us relieved we saved that ride for last!  Robbie and I also loved Everest, but couldn't convince the girls to join us!
At the hotel that night we ate a quick meal and settled in to watch the Auburn/LSU game.  The girls were not as in to it as the rest of us.  Off to the pool! Our room had an incredible view of the pool, so I would periodically check to be sure that Robbie wasn't throwing things off of the balcony out of frustration during the game.
Grandmama is a trooper.  A few weeks before our trip, she had a pain block done on her back, so she was definitely not feeling her best.
Day three we ventured back to EPCOT, which will be the next post!
